If you're evaluating or managing a paid subscription, you may want to limit billing to only the users who actively track time. Quantify uses a usage-based billing model, where you're charged based on "Tracked Users" β Jira users who have time-sheets generated for a given month. Users without tracked time are not billed.
By default, many Atlassian Marketplace apps bill based on all active Jira users, but Quantify allows you to exclude users from tracking (and thus from billing) by revoking their access to the app.
How to Mark Users as Non-Billable
Navigate to the People section in Quantify (under Global Settings > People).
Search for or locate the user(s) you want to exclude.
Click on the user's name to open their profile.
Go to the Permissions tab.
Under Product Access, uncheck the option "Allow access to Quantify and keep historical records if user is inactive."
Click Save.
Once product access is revoked:
The user will no longer have time tracked by Quantify.
They will not count toward your monthly billed "Tracked Users" (seats).
Their historical data may be retained or handled based on your plan settings (contact support for specifics on historical records).
This is ideal for users who don't need time tracking (e.g., stakeholders, executives, or occasional contributors) while keeping your billing focused only on active time-trackers.
Additional Notes
Billing is automatically adjusted each month based on actual tracked users.
For large teams or bulk changes, use the Bulk Modify feature on the People page.
If you need to re-enable access later, simply check the Product Access box again.
